Neurofeedback is the frontline non-pharmacological intervention recommended by the American Paediatric Association (2013) for treating and improving symptoms of ADHD such as inattention and impulsivity.

Neurofeedback is a technique that monitors and retrains your brainwaves along with a system of positive reinforcement. An EEG, short for “Electroencephalography”, is a device (or headset in our case) used to monitor the brainwaves. Particular brainwaves are associated with particular states such as attention, impulsivity, or mediative states.

With ADHD, neurofeedback clinci sessions have helped by gradually teaching children to increase brainwaves associated with positive behaviours and inhibit brainwaves associated with negative behaviours. As children learn to adjust their brainwave patterns, they show reduction in ADHD symptoms and behaviour.
